Construction expo EXCON to open on Wednesday

Bangalore, Nov 20 (PTI) Around 200 global companies will showcase products at South Asia's largest exhibition on construction equipment and technology, EXCON 2011, which will open here on Wednesday.

Spread over 2,20,000 square metres of display area, EXCON will see more than 620 exhibitors, including 200 international companies, participating in the five-day expo, event organiser Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said.

The Karnataka government is the Partner State for the event to be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre.

Indian Earthmoving & Construction Industry Association Ltd is the Sectoral Partner and the exhibition is supported by Builders Association of India.

JCB India Ltd Managing Director and CEO Vipin Sondhi said EXCON 2011 would be the largest event on all counts, including the number of domestic and overseas visitors, exhibition area and new product launches.

"The government's focus on infrastructure development will drive our country forward. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for the construction and equipment industry to work closely with all stakeholders including government agencies, and events like EXCON can go a long way in facilitating that," he added.
