Hyundai Heavy Going well in 2012

Hyundai Heavy Industries (Hyundai) signed $120m worth of orders for earth-moving equipment at Intermat 2012. The orders include 1,050 excavators and 459 wheel loaders, and some others.

At Intermat expo, Hyundai Heavy presented the new eco-friendly 9A Series and hybrid excavators that are 25% more fuel efficient. The most significant difference between the new 9A Series and the 9 Series is the introduction of EU Stage IIIB and Tier 4 Interim compliant diesel engines. The new 9A Series has reduced exhaust emissions and improved fuel economy while still retaining the reliable power and comfort of the 9 Series. The result is a leaner and greener excavator.

Hyundai’s sales of earth-moving equipment reached over $1bn in the first three months of this year with orders from Europe surging over 10% from a year ago, the company reported to the Korean Herald.

Hyundai hopes to increase this to 4.6bn by the end of 2012, a 27% improvement on 2011.
