SWRD85 Rapid Impact Compactor to Europe Market

Sinoway SWRD85 is going to launch to European market. Similar to RIC 7000, SWRD85 compactors with 7 tonnes hammer mass and 1.5 meters standard impact foot produce the 84 kN.m impact power.

The rapid impact compactor is a dynamic compaction device based on the piling hammer technology used to increase the bearing capacity of soils and reduce the settlement through controlled impacts, in particular, to compact sandy soils, where silt and clay contents are low. This ground improvement technique, which is allied to dynamic compaction, is called Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC). The general idea of this method is to drop a falling weight from a relatively low height onto a special foot assembly at a fast rate, while the foot remains in contact with the ground at all times.

Rapid impact compactor consists mainly of three impact components: the impact foot, the driving cap, and the hammer with the falling weight. The impact foot is a steel foot with a diameter of 1.5 m. It remains in contact with the ground the whole time. The driving cap connected to the foot allows for articulation. The impact foot, driving cap and falling weight are connected to a unit, the so-called hammer rig.

Mostly, the rapid impact compactor is mounted on a crawler excavator. Its base unit excavator does not need modifying or extra counterweight. The compactor uses its existing hydraulic excavator circuits, and its universal boom assembly can be used with any excavator. It also reuses the original boom cylinders. The drop height and impact blows of the hammer can be adjusted by operator using a controller in the excavator cab to achieve optimal compaction results.

Rapid impact compactor is considered to have less cost and more productivity when compared to other ground improvement techniques such as dynamic compaction equipment and vibro compaction equipment. In terms of security, it also, has less vibration effect and no risk of flying debris when compared to dynamic compaction.
