Self-elevating Amphibious Buggy Work Platform Successfully Launched Testing

At the end of June 2023, our client successfully tested our SWSC150J amphibious drilling platform in Hengsha Island, Shanghai, using the spud legs attachment. Usually, clients cannot conduct testing while the drilling rig is floating, as the rig needs to be fixed to alleviate any uncontrolled lateral movement of the drill rod. By connecting the spud legs, it provides a fast and effective anchoring system in shallow water, where rope anchors are considered unsuitable. Similarly, adding a suction caisson to one of the legs on a suitable ground will provide additional reaction weight. The pile legs will provide stability for a water depth of approximately 3m-6m.

During low tide, SWSC150J amphibious mobile exploratory drilling platform is able to drive between the geotechnical drilling locations, using its tracked pontoons, and operate as a regular drilling rig would. The SWSC150J is jacked up to a safe height above the incoming tide water level like a modular jack-up barge to be able to continue working through tidal changes. Alternatively, during high tide it is sailed to the location utilizing the amphibious tracks as propellers, its legs would then be lowered to jack it up into position. This will allow continuing data collection regardless of the changing tide.

SINOWAY SWSC150J self-propelled amphibious jack-up platform designed for marine geotechnical investigations in intertidal waters zone, was the idea equipment and perfect solution. It consists of two modular amphibious tracked pontoons, one power pack, one working platform and a number of movable legs, capable of raising its tracked pontoons over the surface of the sea. Besides, two additional side pontoons can be added to increase buoyant when the whole platform takes heavy loading.

In additional to transitional water zones, our SWSC150J amphibious track mounted work platform can work in wetland, terrain soft ground underfoot swamp areas, sediment ponds, tailing impoundments and shallow water where traditional drilling equipment cannot go.
